Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard insists that experience is vital in the club's quest for this season's Champions League trophy.
The Blues produced a dramatic comeback from a 3-1 first leg deficit to beat Napoli 4-1 at Stamford Bridge last night to move through to the quarter-finals of Europe's premier club competition.
Lampard, who slammed home a second-half penalty to help the club to victory, said today that using players who have experience in the Champions League will be absolutely essential in the run-in after he shared goals with fellow oldies John Terry and Didier Drogba to allow the West Londoners to qualify for the final eight.
"You're not talking about old boys whose careers are flitting out.
"They're players that want to play, players that want to win. You can see that.
"When you've got that, if you can add to that with the youth and the quality we've got around the team as well then that's a recipe and we have to carry on with that.
"The amount of nights that Didi's stood up, the amount of nights that John's stood up, is what Chelsea are all about.
"If that can get us a result like that then we go with it.""You can't win these sorts of competitions without that," Lampard said.
