Exeter are in discussions for a friendly against Brazil, 100 years after becoming the national side's first opponents. The League One outfit have flown two delegates, vice chairman Julian Tagg and business development manager Bruce Henderson, to Rio de Janeiro to begin talks over the possibility of facing the Samba Boys in 2014.
"A great deal of work and discussion has taken place without the club incurring any costs. The Brazilians are keen.
"I am sure that during their visit our `ambassadors' Julian and Bruce will do their best to progress negotiations so that we can pull this off and prove once again that Exeter City is 'no ordinary football club' and do so in our normal way without cost or risk to the football club." City chairman Edward Chorlton said: "Whilst we have no guarantees that we can deliver a repeat of that amazing first game, we owe it to ourselves, the club and its supporters to explore ways in which this important centenary for both Brazil and for Exeter City can be celebrated.
