EXCLUSIVE: Watching West Ham at Upton Park like an AC/DC concert - Foxe

Hayden Foxe has likened the Upton Park crowd to that of a top quality rock concert.

The former West Ham United defender recalled playing in front of the Hammers faithful during his time in East London between 2000 and 2002, comparing it to watching a live show of great Australian rock band AC/DC.

Foxe spoke with Tribalfootball's Andrew Maclean regarding West Ham's iconic home ground, which closed it's gates to competitive matches in May, as the club makes their move to the nearby Olympic Stadium after 112 years at the Boleyn Ground.

"It's quite amazing when you first witness a game at Upton Park, on and off the field," the said.

"I had friends from Australia travelling through Europe that were keen rugby supporters and couldn't stand to watch football back in Australia.

"They came to Upton Park to watch a game and told me it was like being at an AC/DC concert (these boys were massive AC/DC fans).

"They couldn't believe the atmosphere and the charge they got from a game of soccer."

West Ham played their last match at Upton Park on the final day of the 2015/16 Premier League season, defeating Manchester United 3-2 in a dramatic encounter, to sign off in style.
