Tiago Mendes admits he would love to see Diego Costa return to Atletico Madrid.
Speculation regarding a potential Vicente Calderon comeback for the Chelsea striker continues to swirl in England and Spain.
It is believed that Atleti boss Diego Simeone is desperate to have the Brazilian-born Spain international back in the Spanish capital and if that particular transfer were to be sorted, Costa's homecoming would certainly be welcomed by his former Los Colchoneros teammate Tiago.
“It's hard to speak about that because we do not know the future," the 35-year-old told Tribalfootball.
“But I've been with Diego three or four years and of course it would be a pleasure to have him back.
“In football you never know.
“We will buy some attacking players, we don't know which ones will come.
“If it is Diego, for sure for me, it will be a great signing."
Tiago is in Melbourne with Atleti for the 2016 International Champions Cup, proudly presented by Audi.
The Spanish giants take on Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur at the MCG on Friday night in the third and final match in Australia. Tickets are available HERE.
