EXCLUSIVE: Man Utd midfielder Carrick invaluable, priceless - Former West Ham colleague Foxe

Michael Carrick has thoroughly deserved everything that has come his way in his glittering career.

The 35-year-old midfielder has won five Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup during his time with Manchester United and the success could not have gone to a man more fitting.

That is the sentiment of the England international's former West Ham United teammate Hayden Foxe who told Tribalfootball's Andrew Maclean that Carrick is and was pure quality as both a person and a footballer.

"Micky Carrick was a top bloke on and off the pitch," said Australian Foxe, who is the assistant coach at A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers.

"He has had a great career which is truly deserved.

"Micky made everything look so easy when on the ball and his passing ability with both feet was second to none.

"In and around the change room he would be invaluable and on the pitch priceless for the players to play with."

While he may now be seen as more of a bit-part player at United under Jose Mourinho, following the arrivals of Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan and presence of Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera and Morgan Schneiderlin, Carrick is still the heart and soul of the Red Devils in what is now his 10th season with the famous club.
