Stuart Webber says he owes a lot to Damien Comolli and Frank McParland.
Huddersfield Town's Head of Football Operations worked alongside the recruitment gurus at Liverpool during his formative years in football administration.
Frenchman Comolli and McParland, now Head of Recruitment at Rangers, allowed Webber to flourish in his role on Merseyside and he feels that his time with the duo can certainly be viewed upon as a success.
Webber admits that the character of both Comolli and McParland played an enormous part in his own development which has seen him assemble a quality Championship squad at Huddersfield who currently sit atop the tier two table.
"They were massive for my career," he told Tribalfootball.com.
"I've been fortunate that everywhere I've been I've worked with good people and none more so than at Liverpool.
"I went in there as national senior scout and within six months I had been promoted to Director of Academy Recruitment at the age of 25.
"Frank McParland took me under his wing and trusted me to get on and do my job. He needed people he could trust underneath him to do the job.
"Then when Damien Comolli came in it went up another level. I think Damien saw a lot of him in me being a young guy who hadn't been a footballer and worked hard to get into a high position within a club.
"He maybe looked at me as like when he was at Arsenal."
Webber indicated that his time working alongside the aforementioned pair has since benefitted Liverpool greatly due to the key players that have been offloaded to rival clubs, paving the way for top talent that has since been signe.
"We signed some excellent players who they have now sold," he added.
"Raheem Sterling, Brad Smith, Jordon Ibe. That's creeping up towards £70million worth of players from our signings.
"To be involved in all that and to lead a lot of that was great. To have Damien and Frank allow me to do those things was incredible.
"When you look back at those times, we spent some real money, and a lot of it was almost on my head."
