Ledley King believes both Tottenham Hotspur and England are in safe hands with Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

The 22-year-old striker and 20-year-old midfielder have been two of the players of the season in the Premier League this campaign, helping guide Spurs to second on the table and within striking distance of a first title since 1961.

Kane has now strung together two standout seasons for his boyhood club while Alli, who joined from League One MK Dons in the summer, has enjoyed a rapid rise to the top under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino.

In regards to the influence the in-form pair can have on both their club and country for many years to come, Spurs legend King is confident that there is no limit to what the duo can achieve either in the lily-white of North London or the colours and crest of the esteemed Three Lions.

“The way they are performing at Spurs, they both stand a very good chance of starting in the Euros," King told Tribalfootball.com.

“If they were to start, I'm a firm believer that playing at a high level for your country breeds confidence for when you go back to club football.

“If they are able to do that, they will come back feeling pretty good about themselves for next season, really feeling like they are top players, like they belong.

“I think that is great for a young player to have and that will be only beneficial for Spurs."

King was speaking as Tottenham's ambassador at the Melbourne launch of the 2016 International Champions Cup Australia, presented by Audi at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Spurs will compete in the Australian leg of the worldwide tournament against Italian giants Juventus, Spanish powerhouse Atletico Madrid and current A-League champions Melbourne Victory in late July.
