EXCLUSIVE: Ex-Man City striker Jo targets Russia, Ukraine move after World Cup success

Former Manchester City and Everton striker Jo is aiming to return to Europe in January.

The Brazil international is available after leaving Atletico Mineiro and favours a return to Russia, where he enjoyed three successful years with CSKA Moscow.

The 27 year-old's form last season was outstanding and he played his way into Brazil's World Cup squad, featuring against Mexico, Chile and the third-place playoff against Louis van Gaal's Holland.

Jo's agent, Franjo Blazevic, says the striker does favour a return to Russia or Ukraine, where he feels he played some of his best football.

Blazevic told tribalfootball.com: "He loved Russia when he played for CSKA Moscow and will return a much better player. He's in his prime and of course played in the World Cup.

"We'll be talking to clubs in Russia and Ukraine. He's had three great years in Brazil, played for his country and will be a top signing for any interested club."

Blazevic also mentions Jo will return to Europe a title winner, having fired Atletico Mineiro to their famous Copa Libertadores triumph in 2013.
