EXCLUSIVE: Agent Ferrari says Anelka 'loved at Juventus, but Conte intensity too much'

Italian agent Fabrizio Ferrari admits the intensity of Antonio Conte at Juventus worked against Nicolas Anelka during the Frenchman's spell in Turin.

Ferrari negotiated Anelka's move from Shanghai Shenhua to Juve in 2013 on a short-term loan and rates the deal among the best he's been involved in.

He told Tribalfootball.com: "Anelka was a great deal for both of the sides. The player was going to a great club again after the Chinese experience, Juventus was gaining a top player as a third or fourth choice."

However, Ferrari admits the demands of Chelsea boss Conte at Juve worked against Anelka.

He continued: "Clearly in the short time (five months) it wasn't easy to make a mark, even to find the best physical condition to play at the intensity requested by Antonio Conte.

"I have to say that he left a great memory: he has been a great professional player."

Another big deal Ferrari looks back at fondly was placing Chelsea hero Michael Essien at AC Milan.

He added: "Essien had been a top player, he gave a lot to Chelsea, maybe he was beginning his process of decline when he went to AC Milan. Anyway, Milan was in a difficult moment..."

Ferrari continued: "I've done this job for 21 years, so I have so many stories to tell... anyway, perhaps I remember better the deals that didn't go through than the ones that did..."
