Former Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is under consideration at Aston Villa.
The London Evening Standard says McCarthy is emerging as a favourite to take over at Aston Villa.
Norwich manager Paul Lambert has also been linked with the vacancy, as has Wigan boss Roberto Martinez, but a rush of bets yesterday afternoon has seen McCarthy installed as the favourite with some bookmakers.
