Ex-Wolves boss McCarthy favourite for Forest job

Mick McCarthy is wanted by managerless Nottingham Forest.

The Sunday Mirror says McCarthy will be tempted back into management by Nottingham Forest, with a £20million transfer kitty from the club's new Kuwaiti owners.

McCarthy heads a shortlist of four potential replacements for sacked boss Steve Cotterill and will hold formal talks in the next 48 hours after cutting short a family holiday in Portugal.

The former Wolves boss has been out of work since February, but was first approached by Forest's new regime four weeks ago.
