Former Wimbledon and Leeds United hardman Vinnie Jones is set to be immortalised in a statue on a new housing estate.

The Mirror says Barratt Homes wants to put up a life-size replica of the former Wimbledon star on the site of the club's old Plough Lane stadium in South West London.

Vinnie was part of Wimbledon's famous Crazy Gang side in the 1980s.

A pal of Vinnie, now an actor living in Los Angeles, said: "He'd be honoured. This way the Crazy Gang would live on."
