Lecce striker Davide di Michele has revealed he almost signed for Arsenal during his career.

Di Michele, who did have a spell in England with West Ham United, admits both the Gunners and Inter Milan came in for him while he was with Salernitana.

"I was close to joining Arsenal and Inter in particular," he revealed.

"But my president at Salernitana did not allow me to make the switch. I must admit it was a train I regret missing."
