Ex-West Ham star Robson impressed by Diamanti

Former Arsenal and West Ham United midfielder Stewart Robson has been impressed by Hammers attacker Alessandro Diamanti.

Robson says Diamanti was the inspiration behind West Ham's comeback against Arsenal on Sunday.

He told TalkSport: "Arsenal were in complete control with West Ham trying to play a close, narrow midfield it allowed Arsenal's full-backs to get forward at will. The first goal was (Bacary) Sagna playing a little one-two with (Abou) Diaby and every time Arsenal switched the play they could attack at will.

"Their movement was excellent and West Ham couldn't get in the game but (Alessandro) Diamanti came on and changed the game. He played in behind the front two, it was a good substitution. Arsenal didn't get to grips with it. They hadn't killed off West Ham and (Vito) Mannone made the mistake from the free-kick. It was a good free-kick from Diamanti but Mannone should never palm it back into the danger area and Carlton Cole was there."
