Ex-West Ham boss: Martial getting back to best for Man Utd

Former West Ham boss Alan Curbishley feels Anthony Martial is returning to his best.

He was impressed by the Red Devils as they romped past his old side 4-1 at Old Trafford to make it into the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.

Curbishley told Sky Sports: "He [Martial] looked a different player last night.

"We saw flashes of the old Man United last night.

"The counter attacking football and the movement off the ball and he scored two and he could gave scored another.

"When he came in with [Louis] Van Gaal he looked hot then he dipped but now hopefully he's back.

"When you've got [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney [in attack] you need people to run past them.

"You need that pace in the side and Martial and [Marcus] Rashford and [Paul] Pogba, if he plays in that No.10 role, to run past Ibrahimovic because he does like to drop off."
