Ex-West Ham boss Curbishley expects long wait to return to management
Former West Ham United and Charlton Athletic boss Alan Curbishley doesn't expect a return to management anytime soon.
Curbishley has been out of work since resigning in 2008 after West Ham sold Anton Ferdinand and George McCartney against his wishes.
The past 17 months have been difficult for the 52-year-old, who has been unable to work during a hard-fought legal battle over compensation.
Despite being paid £2.2m by the new Hammers board, Curbishley reckons he won’t be back in football for many months to come.
He said: “If anything is going to happen it will probably be in the summer.
“When I left Charlton I had six months off and it was planned and I was looking forward to it. But the West Ham situation wasn’t planned and I found it a very frustrating time. Now it’s over I’m pleased.”
