Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Paul Scharner could be continuing his career in Germany.
The 32-year old Austrian was released by the Baggies at the end of last season and was initially keen to remain in the Premier League but it has been confirmed that he is training with Eintrach Frankfurt and could win a contract there according to general manager Bruno Huber.
"We met in a hotel and discussed his situation, (Eintracht Frankfurt coach) Armin Veh was part of these talks," Hubner told BILD.
"We were keen to get a personal impression as it had been said that Scharner would be controversial - crackers, they say.
"However, we have been getting an extremely different impression - a very positive one. He is part of our training until Sunday, then we will see.
"He has all the things required and you would not need to test him anyway. He is experienced, he is good in one-on-one situations and has willpower too.
"He is without a club and he is also able to keep up his fitness for Austria's forthcoming international match."
