Former Aston Villa striker Tony Cascarino has slammed the appointment of Alex McLeish as manager.
Cascarino believes the appointment is 'madness.'
He told the Express & Star: "Nothing against Alex McLeish - he did a really good job at Birmingham and over the last decade he's proved himself. But Villa isn't the club for him.
"Firstly they've had to pay compensation and secondly the Villa fans don't want him, so the moment they have an indifferent spell, what will happen to the atmosphere at Villa Park?
"It's madness."
