Ex-Villa star Angel thrilled to be back in action for Chivas USA

Juan Pablo Angel admits it felt nice to be back for Chivas USA on the weekend.

The 36-year old former Aston Villa and New York Red Bulls striker came on for 27 minutes of his side's 1-0 loss to Philadelphia Union for his first appearance since March 11.

Angel had missed five league matches because of concussion symptoms but was delighted to be back on the pitch even if his final touch was somewhat missing.

"It was great, I'm still trying to get minutes and pick up the tempo of the game," he said.

"I've been away six weeks and I came into a game that was at a high pace, but I'm delighted to be back."

And Chivas head coach Robin Fraser was confident that the Colombian ace would seen be back to his best.

"The more he plays, the better he's going to get," Fraser said. "He's been out awhile and it's good to get him into a real competition.

"It was important that he gets some more game minutes. Game minutes means you have to make game-speed decisions, and I thought that a lot of times today his decisions were good."
