Ex-Villa boss Lambert reveals visits to Bayern Munich, Real Madrid

Sacked Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has enjoyed his time out of football.

Lambert has visited some European clubs since his dismissal.

He told talkSPORT: "I've had a good time away, I've been to some great places to watch training.

"I was at Real Madrid with Carlo Ancelotti for five days, he's a lovely man, and then I went to Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the space of few months.

"Meeting Pep Guardiolo and Carlo was an absolute privilege, it was top class.

"So I've had a great break, but I'm ready to come back in when the right opportunity comes around.

"I can't wait to get back in, my appetite has never dwindled.

"I want to go to a club where I have a good chance of doing something. I had a great experience with Norwich and Aston Villa, but I'll go again now.

"You can never pick and choose though, you've got to think what is right for you, and if there's a good opportunity I'll go for it.

"But the reality is you've got to wait until someone loses their job, it's not nice."
