Ex-Villa, Alkmaar midfielder Holman on target for Al Nasr

Brett Holman scored his first goal for United Arab Emirates club Al Nasr in their 6-1 win over Al Wasl in the Arabian Gulf League on Wednesday.

The 29-year old Australian international, who joined Al Nasr from Aston Villa in June, was making his ninth league appearance when he opened his account in the 25th minute at the Al-Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.

Leo Lima had netted with an earlier penalty while Eder Luis added a second before the former AZ Alkmaar star tallied.

Al Nasr were not done there as Hassan Mohamed made it 4-0 before a second-half double from Habib Fardan Abdualla preceded Mariano Donda's late reply for the visitors.

Al Nasr now sits third on the UAE's AGL table with five wins, a draw and three losses form their nine league fixtures thus far.
