Former Valencia star Gaizka Mendieta feels Juan Mata will prove a great signing for Chelsea.

Mata arrived in the summer from Valencia.

Mendieta told talkSPORT: "The arrival of Mata will have given him a boost because he's the kind of player that plays in the hole and finds a pass.

"They've (Mata and Fernando Torres) been playing together in the national team so there's going to be an understanding between the two."
