Former Valencia sports chief Fernando Gomez Colomer says the Alvaro Negredo issue needs to be settled.

Los Che coach Nuno is refusing to select the former Manchester City striker, which has angered supporters.

Colomer said, "It's an issue in principle to check if it is solvable or not.

"If it is, both the coach and the player should do everything possible to fix it. He is an active player, who also cost a lot of money and if he can be used in the future it would be very positive.

"It is for the sporting staff and people who have to fix it, hopefully they can do it for the good of Valencia CF."
