Former USA international Greg Vanney has been appointed as the new Chivas USA assistant coach.

The ex-FC Dallas and LA Galaxy defender joins newly-appointed Chivas head coach Robin Fraser, the pair coming across from Real Salt Lake.

Vanney served RSL as director of the RSL-Arizona Academy youth development program and will now be Fraser's number two at The Home Depot Center.

The 36-year old has been active in the coaching ranks since ending his playing career in 2008 and with more than 30 appearances for the USA national team, is sure to bring a wealth of experience to Chivas.
