Former Ukraine coach Leonid Buryak has told Shakhtar Donetsk star Henrikh Mkhitaryan to think twice about moving to Liverpool.
The Armenia international, who also has an offer from Anzhi and is attracting interest from Tottenham, is keen to seal a switch to Anfield.
But Buryak says: "Liverpool is a strong European team, but I do not believe they're now at the top of Europe.
"Given the stunning season that Henrik has just had, he should not exclude a transfer to a more upscale club in Europe."
Izvestia says Mkhitaryan has a serious contract offer from Liverpool, but terms over his transfer fee are yet to be struck with Shakhtar.
