Ex-Tranmere, Macclesfield defender Tremarco joins Inverness

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have signed English left-back Chris Tremarco.

The 27-year old has joined Caley on a one-year contract as a free agent after leaving Macclesfield Town earlier this summer and new manager Terry Butcher is looking forward to having Liverpool-born defender at his disposal.

"Carl has been showing his paces with us and we've liked what we've seen," he said.

"He's very solid and an excellent tackler and I'm very pleased he's accepted a contract offer.

"He gives us another good option in defence where we have more strength in depth than at any time since I came here."

Tremarco started his career with Tranmere Rovers in 2003 before moving to Wrexham in 2008 during which time he had a loan spell with Darlington. He then moved onto Macclesfield in 209 and spent last season on loan with Maltese side Floriana.
