Ex-Tottenham, Wolves man Ricketts joins Diosgyor

Former Tottenham and Wolves midfielder Rohan Ricketts has completed a move to Hungarian club Diosygor.

The 27-year old has joined the club as a free agent after last playing for MLS outfit Toronto FC.

Initially, Diosygor head coach Barnabas Tornyi was sceptical about signing Ricketts due to the club's financial situation but now things have changed and he is delighted with the capture of the man who began his career with Arsenal.

"After training on Tuesday I said I didn't support Ricketts' signing due to our present financial situation," he told the club's official website.

"But our situation has now changed. Club officials explained the situation.

"I spoke to him face-to-face and he spoke about his experiences in football and he admitted he wasn't in as good condition as he should be.

"I offered him the chance to attend extra training sessions within one month and he accepted this offer."
