Ex-Tottenham striker Keane wants LA Galaxy to rectify subpar defensive efforts

Ex-Tottenham striker Keane wants LA Galaxy to rectify subpar defensive efforts LA Galaxy ace Robbie Keane has urged his side's defense to sure up after conceding what he describes as 'sloppy goals'.

The reigning MLS champions were beaten 3-1 at home by New England Revolution on the weekend to make it two losses and a win at The Home Depot Center in league play so far this campaign.

Keane, who scored in the loss to make it three of the Galaxy's five goals this term, admits it was a defensive fragility that led to another defeat and he says he wants things to change as soon as possible.

"We did the exact same thing we did in the first few games and that's concede sloppy goals," he said after the loss.

"Every goal that we've conceded so far has been very, very similar. It's stuff that you do when you're a kid defending and we didn't do it properly tonight. We've only got ourselves to blame so we can't point the finger anywhere else but at ourselves and we have to take it as a team and try to move on to next week.

"I don't know whether it's a lack of concentration, I'm really not too sure but it's something that we have to rectify very, very quickly because we're conceding too many goals.

"We have to take this on board as a team and as a group of players. It wasn't good enough from any of us so we have to accept it and keep our heads down and be babies about or just get on with it, be a man and make sure we're ready for next week."
