Ex-Tottenham star Bale wants to emulate Zidane, Puskas at Real Madrid

Gareth Bale wants to be compared to Real Madrid greats Zinedine Zidane, Ferenc Puskas and Alfredo Di Stefano at the end of his career.

The 24-year old Welsh winger became the world's most expensive footballer when Madrid paid Tottenham £85.3million for his services late in the transfer window and he now hopes to repay that faith by becoming a star of the Spanish club.

"There have been the likes of Zidane and obviously the previous ones, which were a bit before my time, like Puskas and Di Stefano," he said.

"There are lot of players who have been unbelievable here, world class and legends of the game. Hopefully, I can become the player I want to be, and hopefully be in that league."
