Ex-Tottenham star Bale: Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo is 'world's best player'
The Portuguese ace scored two goals as Madrid rocketed into the Champions League final courtesy of a 4-0 semi-final second leg win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday night to move through to the decider 5-0 on aggregate.
In the wake of another stunning European performance from Ronaldo, former Tottenham star Bale spoke highly of his colleague who will now get the chance to produce his best in front of his Portuguese people in the May 24 final in Lisbon.
"That's why he's the world's best player. It's an honour to play with him and to learn from him," Bale told Sky Sports News after Sergio Ramos and Ronaldo scored twice to dethrone European title-holders Bayern.
"We've still got one match to go and hopefully he can score a few more goals."
As for Real's opponent in the decider, Bale admitted it was hard to choose between Madrid derby rivals Atletico Madrid and his former Premier League adversaries Chelsea who face off in the other semi-final on Wednesday night.
"They're both great teams, I don't think we can pick and choose. Whoever it may be, I'm sure it will be a great final," he added.
"All we'll be doing is concentrating on our game and our game-plan and hopefully executing it on the day."
