Harry Redknapp emerged as a possible candidate to replace Gianfranco Zola at Birmingham City.
The Daily Mirror claims that the club's Chinese owners have included the veteran manager on their shortlist for the future appointment.
Zola, who presided over a run of 24 games with just two wins, resigned after a 2-0 home defeat to Burton Albion on Monday.
The Italian leaves the Blues in 20th spot on the Championship table, just three points clear of the relegation zone.
Former Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and QPR boss Redknapp is believed to be one of a number of out-of-work managers Birmingham are considering.
