Ex-Tottenham, Man Utd star Berbatov to leave Monaco

Dimitar Berbatov will leave Monaco when his contract expires at the end of the month.

The 34-year old Bulgarian striker joined the principality club in January 2014 and is now set to depart the Stade Louis II.

Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyey told the club's official website: "Dimitar Berbatov showed all his talent and a great professionalism.

"He is clearly among the greatest strikers who played for AS Monaco. We are proud of what he brought to the club and wish him the best in the future."

The former Tottenham, Manchester United and Fulham striker scored seven goals in 26 Ligue 1 outings last season for a total of 18 goals in 54 appearances in all competitions.
