Ex-Tottenham fullback Hutton convinced Villa will see his best years

Former Tottenham fullback Alan Hutton is convinced Aston Villa will see the best of him.

The attacking right-back is relishing the future in claret and blue and promised supporters he would give absolutely everything for the badge.

He told Villa' website: "I certainly don't think the Premier League has seen the best of me.

"The first six months when I came down from Scotland were good. I want to get back to that, playing, being happy and enjoying football again.

"It went brilliantly initially and then the rest of the time it was frustrating for me. No player wants to go through that. We all want to play so it was a tough spell.

"The chance to come here and hopefully play is a great opportunity for me. It's fresh start now and I'm looking forward.

"I'm not one of those players who's just happy to sit there. I want to play every week and I want to do well.

"I was obviously feeling frustrated sitting and doing nothing. I felt I had a lot to offer and a lot to give but I wasn't even in squads.

"To come here? It's fantastic. I think Villa are a massive club. It wasn't so long ago that they were challenging for fourth. I don't see with the players here why we can't be back up towards the top of the table.

"That's why I came here - Villa are a tremendous club."
