Ex-Tottenham captain Roberts: Adebayor has let club down

Former Tottenham captain Graham Roberts feels Emmanuel Adebayor has let them down this season.

Adebayor signed permanently from Manchester City last summer.

[Emmanuel] Adebayor has to do more," the 1984 UEFA Cup winner told talkSPORT. "He's a centre forward, he has to score 20 goals a season. If you're going to qualify for the Champions League and you're going to try and win trophies then your strikers have to be scoring goals.

"He's been disappointing this year. He's let the supporters down. He's let the club down and he needs a kick up the backside. That's what he needs.

"He's got so much to give because last year he proved it when he was on loan."
