Former Tottenham captain Gary Mabbutt has hailed the behaviour of Luka Modric when he was hoping to get a move to Chelsea in the summer.
Mabbutt was comparing Modric with Carlos Tevez's situation at Manchester City when speaking with Absolute Radio.
Asked about Tevez, Mabbutt said: "No, it's an absolute disgrace. I think we've seen, all of us that have been involved in the game, you'd have seen players who are totally, totally cheesed off, you know. We've had it at Tottenham this year, all throughout the summer, Luka Modric, lot of rumours, speculation about is he going to be going.
"Now Luka's a good lad and at the end of it the Chairman said he's going nowhere, he wasn't sold to anyone during the transfer window, he's come back in, he's started the season and yeah, he's got down to his football. He's been playing well, he showed the right attitude.
"Now you may be in the background, when you go home you'll be cheesed off about what happened, but when you come out there you're being paid by the club, you've been paid a good salary by the club, you go out there and you perform. To actually say 'I'm not going to go on that field', I think for all the supporters and everyone connected with the club say, as I said before, it's an absolute disgrace."
Absolute Radio extra Rock 'N' Roll Football hosts Ian Wright and Russ Williams were joined by regular contributors to the show, including former Arsenal man Perry Groves, comedian Ian Stone plus special guest, Spurs legend and Prince's Trust Ambassador Gary Mabbutt. The panel spoke at the first Rock 'N' Roll Football 'Boys Night In' an exclusive event created to raise money for youth Charity The Princes Trust. Money raised will go towards helping disadvantaged young people across the UK get the skills and confidence they need to get a job.
