Former Tottenham and Barcelona boss Terry Venables feels let down by Fabio Capello after his decision to quit England.
El Tel wrote in The Sun: "I am so disappointed with the Italian's decision to quit as England boss last night.
"As a manager you have every right to expect to be able to pick your own skipper.
"Capello was denied that right when his bosses relieved JT of the armband six months before the player even has a chance to answer allegations of racism, which he strenuously denies, in a court of law.
"The FA took the easy option and I really felt for Capello. But my pity for the man has wavered after his decision to walk out on England.""I was one of the few who had every sympathy with him after the FA pulled the rug from beneath him last week by stripping John Terry of the captaincy without his consent.
