Ex-Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp was shocked to see the abuse Danny Rose received in Serbia this week.

Redknapp gave Rose, currently on-loan at Sunderland, his Spurs debut.

"I am sure Danny didn't start it," Redknapp told the Daily Express, speaking at the Tullow Oil Golf Day, which aims to raise more than £150,000 for CLIC Sargent. "He was obviously racially abused and that is something certainly we don't want to see anywhere in the world.

"I don't know what the crowd were doing. I would be a liar if I said I did. I didn't see the game, I only saw the highlights and what went on afterwards."
