Ex-Tottenham ace Keane lands LA Galaxy MVP award

Robbie Keane has been named the LA Galaxy Most Valuable Player for the 2013 season.

The 33-year old Republic of Ireland international enjoyed a brilliant first campaign as Galaxy captain and has been rewarded with his second MVP after taking out the prize last year.

Keane scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists in 25 matches in 2013 to become the third player in club history to win the top award at least twice, following four-time winner Landon Donovan and Kevin Hartman who saluted on three occasions.

Former Tottenham, Wolves, Liverpool, Celtic and Leeds United striker Keane was also awarded the Galaxy's Golden Boot for finishing the season as the clubs leading scorer.
