Maurice Edu is hoping he can become a key contributor for Rangers as they chase a fourth consecutive Scottish Premier League title.
The Glasgow giants have kicked off their title defence with five wins and a draw from their opening six matches with Edu starting on five occasions.
And the former Toronto FC star is keen to become a very important player at Ibrox after being in and out of the first team since arriving in August 2008.
"I want to have a strong season this year and try and stay consistent and chip in with a few more goals. I want to be influential in this team," he told the Daily Record.
The manager (Ally McCoist) hasn't sat me down but having worked with him when he was assistant, I have an idea of what my role is in the team and where I stand.
"I have a good relationship with him and I feel comfortable with the set-up we have right now. I'm looking forward to us hopefully making us champions for a fourth year in a row."
