Former Toronto FC midfielder Rohan Ricketts has been handed trials at Aberdeen in Scotland. Ricketts spent last season in the MLS with Toronto, scoring four goals in 39 appearances, but the 26-year-old was released and has returned to the UK.

Dons boss Mark McGhee said: "Ricketts has been playing with Toronto. He is a lively forward and, while some have questioned his workrate, he has ability."

Along with Ricketts, former Chelsea midfielder Craig Rocastle is also trialling with Aberdeen after spending last season in Greece at Thrasivoulos Filis.
