Ex-Toronto, Columbus defender Iro keen on Barnet stay

Stevenage defender Andy Iro says he is open to remaining with Barnet if he can make an impact with the English League Two side.

The 28-year old is on loan with the Bees after failing to gain first team football with Stevenage following his September move from MLS club Toronto FC and he is looking to force his way into the first team which sits at the foot of England's fourth tier.

"I'm hoping to play. That's why I came here, to play some games," said the former Columbus Crew man.

"I see this move as a great opportunity for me, and Barnet look like they could do with some help as well.

"If I get on against Wimbledon (this weekend), then great; if not, I'll keep working hard in training.

"I'm here for another six weeks and if at the end of that the gaffer at Stevenage, who I get on well with, says there is still not much of an opportunity there and it's best I stay, then that's a possibility.

"But if I'm not playing then there's no point. My objective is to play and I'll keep my focus on that."
