Ex-Swansea boss Laudrup plays down Barcelona rumours

Former Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has played down talk linking him with a return to Barcelona.

Laudrup has been linked with Barcelona since his exit from the Liberty Stadium, but distanced himself from suggestions in Spain that he might replace Gerardo Martino in the summer.

Asked about approaches from potential new clubs, Laudrup said: "No one is choosing a manager for next season in February or March. It is rare. Normally we know it happens just after the last game, or last two weeks of may or just before the World Cup.

"It is always positive when you are mentioned, but I know how it is. Throw five or six names out, then in a month maybe some stay and change the other names. But it is always positive when you are mentioned. Let's take it for what it is right now."
