Former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips is happy for Peter Reid over his new job with Mumbai City.
Phillips wrote in the Journal: "Reidy was of course my boss at Sunderland and the memories from this period are always savoured. Still it was a surprise to hear he would be taking up a role thousands of miles away in India.
"Peter Reid has vast experience of managing abroad with his spell as manager of the Thailand national team. It will be interesting to see how he gets on over there in what is a new set up in football. Reidy might know what to expect when it comes to working overseas, but no one will know what to expect from this new venture."
