Former Leicester City and Sunderland striker David Connolly is happy for Marinus Dijkhuizen after he was named new manager of Brentford.
The former Excelsior coach was appointed Bees boss this week.
Connolly, who played for Excelsior and Feyenoord during his career, told RTV Rijnmond: "Apparently they found their ideal man in Marinus. He has done well with limited resources at Excelsior.
"But they have never paid large sums for players. Perhaps that is why they fit together. They want a coach who can get the most out of statistically good players with great potential.
"Marinus goes to a club that is moving up in the elevator. They'll soon get a new stadium with a capacity for 20,000 people."
