Released Sunderland midfielder Bolo Zenden is set to join Celtic.

The Scottish Sun says the former Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool star is a free agent after leaving Sunderland at the end of last season.

It means Hoops boss Neil Lennon can sign him now and the 35-year-old trained at Lennoxtown on Saturday.

Zenden, who won 54 caps for Holland, has told Lennon he would be keen on a move to Parkhead.

Celts assistant Alan Thompson confirmed: "Bolo came in a few days ago and trained yesterday.

"He's a free agent with an unbelievable CV. He wants to come, so we'll have a look and see what we can do."
