Former Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon says he is happy to remain patient regarding his playing future.

Former Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon says he is happy to remain patient regarding his playing future.

The Scotland gloveman was recently released by the Black Cats and is being linked with former boss Steve Bruce who is now manager at Hull City.

But Gordon, who has also been linked with Celtic, West Bromwich Albion and Southampton, insists he is in no hurry to sort out his future just yet.

"Things will work themselves out over the next few weeks," said Gordon.

"I've had a few bits and pieces of contact from different clubs but I'll take my time and see what the best offer is over the summer and see where next season takes me.

"I'm quite relaxed that it will all get sorted out and I can get some first-team football under my belt.

"There is always going to be speculation, managers that know me from the past, Scottish managers, things like that are always going to get put in the press.

"I'll just wait and see what comes over the next few weeks."
