Udinese are closing on released Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
The Scottish Sun says Gordon is keen on a move abroad and would relish the challenge of playing in Serie A next season.
Udinese are in discussions with the 29-year-old and his representatives about a switch that would delight Scotland boss Craig Levein ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifiers next month.
A source at Udinese said: "Nothing is signed yet but Gordon could be the answer for us and we are very interested in him."
