Former Sunderland defender Paul McShane is delighted with his move to Hull City.
The defender already has 19 City appearances to his name having spent the opening part of the 2008/09 season on loan at the KC Stadium before being recalled by the Mackems and having settled so well during that period, he admits he was always open to a return.
"I'm very happy to be back and I didn't really want to leave last January but it was out of my hands," McShane told hullcityafc.net.
"Now I'm back, I'm looking forward to the challenge. I have to get fit first and hopefully I'll start training with the rest of the lads on Monday.
"I really enjoyed my time here last season and I'm just looking forward to playing again and finding my feet at Hull.
"It's really only been during the last week or so that I've known about Hull's interest. I was just concentrating on trying to get fit and wasn't looking for any distractions."
In one of football's typical twists, McShane could be looking at making his second City 'debut' against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on September 12th and that is a game he would definitely be up for.
"It would be a great game for me to play in and I'm sure I'll get a great reception!
"But if that is the game I make a comeback, it is the sort of occasion I thrive on and I'll be ready for it."
