Roberto de Fanti is being linked with a return to English football.
The former agent was dumped as football director at Sunderland last season after the disastrous reign of former manager Paolo di Canio.
However, TMW says De Fanti could again be working in the Premier League next season with Aston Villa.
Villa are in need of greater continental experience in the transfer market and De Fanti is being discussed as a potential addition to the front office staff.
