Former Arsenal striker Niall Quinn is pleased to see Danny Welbeck at Emirates.
Quinn, Sunderland's chairman at the time, signed Welbeck on-loan from Manchester United.
He told the Sunday World: "He fits in the mould of football Wenger plays and will relish the challenge at Arsenal and I don't think he could have done anything to convince Louis van Gaal to keep him at United.
"He has fallen through the cracks at Old Trafford in a few weeks when the new manager has offloaded a lot of players, but it has worked out well for Danny.
"This chance to move to another top English club is perfect for him. He lit up our dressing room at Sunderland when he was a kid and I'm sure he will do something similar at Arsenal now that he is a proven player at the highest levels of the game."
